Yerelin Checo is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida with an Education Specialist degree in Mental Health Counseling from Florida Atlantic University. She obtained her master’s degree in School Psychology from Barry University and earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Florida Atlantic University. Ms. Checo believes that the therapeutic relationship is the most important part of the therapeutic process. Therefore, she strives to create a trusting relationship and a comfortable environment with all her clients. The approach she takes is one of collaboration, respect, and compassion. Her style is solution focused with a strong emphasis on the cognitive behavioral therapeutic framework. She specializes in working with adults who struggle with substance abuse as well as trauma recovery, life transition, loss and grieving, depression and anxiety management.
